Why are you asking me for proof?
Short answer
A moderator wants to confirm your review describes a real experience. Upload a receipt, confirmation or photo before the deadline; your review stays visible meanwhile and the business never sees your proof.
Why we ask
Sometimes our checks or a report raise a question about a review. Then a moderator may ask the author to show that the experience was real. This protects honest reviews. Being asked doesn't mean we think you did anything wrong.
Your review stays visible while we check.
What you can send
You get an email and a notification with a link to the proof page. There you can:
- Read our message, which explains what we'd like to see.
- Add up to 3 files: a receipt or invoice, an order or appointment confirmation, a photo, or something else that shows your experience. Files can be JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC or PDF, up to 10 MB each.
- Add a note if you like, for example the date of your visit or order.
- Click Send proof before the deadline shown on the page.
Who sees your proof
Only OKReviews staff. Your proof is never shown to the business and never published. We delete it 6 months after our decision.
If you don't reply
If we don't hear from you by the deadline, the moderator decides based on what we have. You'll get the outcome by email, and you can appeal if you disagree.
If you can't prove the experience, the proof page also has I can't prove it: delete my review.
